Pricing
Everything the census measured is free and CC BY 4.0. Four things cost money, each paid per call in USDC on Base with the x402 protocol: no account, no key, no subscription. Paid placement buys position only and is always labelled; it never changes a verdict or a number.

How payment works
Send the request; the answer is 402 Payment Required whose JSON body carries x402 payment requirements (scheme exact, network Base eip155:8453, asset USDC 0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913, the atomic amount, payTo 0xc91cE6291eDC0713ec753BAFBA002506ffb2b95c) and the same terms base64-encoded in the payment-required header for x402 v2 clients. Sign the EIP-3009 authorization for that amount, resend the identical request with the X-PAYMENT (or PAYMENT-SIGNATURE) header, and the facilitator facilitator.payai.network verifies and settles it on chain before the response is produced. Prices in /.well-known/x402 and /openapi.json are generated from the same table as the challenges. Settlement is final; there are no accounts to refund. Unpaid GET and HEAD requests to paid routes always receive the 402 with the terms, never 405 or 400.
What placement buys and does not buy
A featured placement puts one resource at the top of the report and of every search results page for 30 days, labelled "featured" together with the paying wallet address and whether it equals the resource's payTo. It does not alter the resource's verdict, probe record, on-chain numbers, position in browse lists, or its presence on /dead if it dies.
